we stayed at Amber House on a recent family vacation and heartily reccommend it to others. The place appears to be brand new and is modern and comfortable, super clean and well cared for. We found the owner to be welcoming , informative and warm yet never intrusive. The area is perfect for a relaxing family vacation with attractions and activities for all ages. We are a couple with boys ages 13 and 19 at the time of our trip and will certainly return to this well located house. We travel several times a year to many parts of the globe but we all agree that this was the most balanced, friendly trip of the past dozen years. Spectacular in the sense that this setting allowed us to connect as a family and enjoy each other without the intrusion of the place we were in or the surroundings about us. Parents that travel with their children will appreciate this environment. I am certain that we will return often. While we have stayed in many 5 star hotels and have experienced much of the best that the cities have to offer, I would reiterate that this was my families favorite to date. The hills, lakes, small town attractions and the warmth of the owner made this a most memorable trip.
This is the Ireland that created the nostalgic memories for many that has largely disappeared but is alive and well in the area surrounding Amber House.

I had the need to make a “flying” visit to Sligo last week for the celebration of the Mass following the passing of a family member and had the good fortune to find lodging again at Amber B&B. While the occassion was sad, it was a delight to see the positive changes to the B&B such as paved parking, beautifully appointed large rooms etc… The owner was very generous in sharing her time for transportation , directions and general advice. It was nice to see how well things seem to be going and it was kind of her to make room for me and to take such good care of me at the last minute. It was just myself this time (sans family) but we are all looking forward to a return soon. This is a special place.

Trish and her hostess-in-training daughter Ciara were extremely helpful in making our stay friendly and welcoming. Amber Lodge is well situated to explore Loughs Arrow and Key.
Trish has both the knowledge and contacts to facilitate historical exploration of Kesh Corran, the Carrowkeel Megalithic Passage Cairns, and Ballyhealy. Clean, modern, quiet, great breakfasts, and well situated to access excellent restaurants. Easy travel to both Sligo and Boyle. Both my son and I willl definitely return in the future.
